The Author Ethics and IEEE New Author Tools Workshop will take place on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 12:30 to 15:30. The first half of this workshop will present a comprehensive review of author ethics and best practices that covers the proper preparation of a manuscript, addresses bibliometric and citation manipulation, provides guidance through the submission and the peer review process, and offers case studies in support ethical practices to ensure successful publication.
The second half of this workshop will be three presentations about new and updated IEEE tools for authors. The first presentation is from Code Ocean, a cloud-based computational reproducibility platform, where you can let others easily run code in the cloud and share it privately and/or publicly. IEEE has partnered with Code Ocean in support of making the world’s scientific code more open.
The second presentation will be from IEEE DataPort, which serves as a valuable and easily accessible repository of datasets and data analysis tools. IEEE DataPort is an online data repository created and supported by both the IEEE Signal Processing Society and the IEEE Big Data Initiative.
The third presentation will be from IEEE Author Center, which is the premier tool to successfully navigate through the author journey. Tools and guidance provided by the IEEE Author Center include IEEE Publication Recommender, article templates, copyright transfer, LaTeX analyzer, and much, much more.
Please join us for this informative workshop and we welcome your participation, interaction, and discussion during the Q&A!
Bill Colacchio, SPS Senior Manager, Publications & Education Strategy and Services, will moderate the event.
